Failte!
Beth started teaching at Deanne's Dance Studio in September of 2009. Deanne wanted an ongoing Irish Dance program to add to the studio's superb classes in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and hiphop.
The decision to call the Irish dance program the North Star School of Irish Dance was reached later that year and we began working on the dresses (made by Celtic Threads) and booking for performances.
ABOUT BETH
Beth started Irish dancing upon her return from a six month stint living in Glasgow, Scotland. (Yes. Scotland.) A friend referred her to a group of dnacers for Scottish Country Dancing, but it turned out to be Irish Ceili! She stayed anyway and not long afterwards started learning step dancing and joined the Drake School of Irish Dance (Atlanta, Georgia). She has competed in step dancing for eight years and has never regretted never finding the Scottish Country Dancers!
Beth is at the Novice level (adults) in Hornpipe and Slip Jig and at the Prizewinner level (adults) in Light Jig, Reel, Treble Jig, Traditional Set, and Single Jig. She still competes under the Drake School of Irish Dance (Mary Ujda, TCRG for the adults).
